I know it is hard to figure out how to promote your business and reach the right people.
There are a million different ways and yet many of us struggle because we either get decision paralysis (due to the huge number of options), don’t know how to execute an idea or don’t know how to do it well (and so don’t do it at all).

One way to promote your business and get in front of new people is to use a trending topic. A trending topic is something that is being talked about by more than just you, something that is relevant to your business or industry and more importantly, relevant and interesting or useful to your audience.
The trending topic I’m talking about, which I’m using this week to promote my business and support my audience to promote their businesses is Small Business Saturday UK.
Small Business Saturday is a grassroots campaign that highlights small business success and encourages customers to support small businesses in their communities. The day itself takes place on the first Saturday in December each year and the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses.
You can leverage this campaign to help you promote your small business over the next few days and beyond.
How to do this
Here are 3 quick and easy ways you can use Small Business Saturday to promote your business this week.
Whichever you try, always use the hashtag #SmallBizSatUk and tag them using @SmallBizSatUk – they may share your tweet or post to their network and you’ll reach a ton of new people (they are liked by 32k on FB and followed by over 40k on Twitter and nearly 6k on Instagram).
#1 Shout about your own small business and maybe make an offer to your audience to grab people’s attention across all your marketing channels (social media, email marketing, FB lives, blogs etc).
#2 Do a shout out about another small business (or several) you love or want to support on social media and tag them. They will likely reciprocate.
#3 Register for free on the Small Business Saturday’s directory, the Small Business Finder and be available for people to find you! You can add events & offers too.

This Saturday, Small Business Saturday, is also my birthday. I love my birthday and I can’t wait to spend it with my lovely man and my friends doing lots of things I love to do; relaxing, hanging out, dancing, eating nice food and looking at animals (we’re planning to see the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition).
